(A3L) Aromatherapy - Personalized Formula Design

    1. Competition Rules

(1) Competition Content

    1. Written Analysis:
    • The organizer provides three scenario descriptions (covering skin or emotional concerns). Participants must detail their care oil formula, including carrier oil and essential oil selection, proportions, and intended benefits.
    1. Essential Oil and Carrier Oil Blending:
    • The organizer provides carrier oils (can be used individually or blended), and participants must bring their own essential oils.
    • Participants must create a 10mL care oil formula for each scenario, with a maximum essential oil concentration of 2%. Proportions and rationale must be recorded.

 

(2) Competition Time

    • The competition duration is 30 minutes. All actions must be completed within the time limit.

 

(3) Judging Process

    1. Real-Time Observation: During the competition, judges observe participants’ written answers and care oil blending processes.
    2. Final Scoring: Judges evaluate the written analysis and the blended care oil based on established scoring criteria.

 

(4) Contestant Grooming Requirements

    1. Dress Code: Participants must wear the organizer-provided uniform top with appropriate pants and shoes to maintain a professional appearance.
    2. Hair Requirements: Hair must be neatly groomed. If long, it should be tied up to ensure cleanliness and professionalism.
    3. Overall Appearance: A clean and tidy appearance is mandatory. Excessive accessories or heavy makeup are not allowed to maintain a professional image.

 

(5) Essential Oil Requirements

    1. Essential Oil Variety:
    • Participants must provide their own essential oils (no limit on quantity).

 

(7) Tools and Products

    1. Carrier Oils Provided by Organizer:
    • Sweet Almond Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Coconut Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Olive Oil.
    • Written Test Paper (including scenario descriptions).
    1. Tools:
    • Black or blue pens, digital scales, droppers, small measuring cups or graduated bottles, stirring rods, and other necessary tools.
    1. Products: Essential oils.

 

2. Safety and Hygiene

(1) Tools and Products

    1. All tools must be sanitized before and after the competition to prevent cross-contamination.

 

(2) Work Area Cleanliness

    1. Contestants must ensure that their workstations (tables and chairs) are tidy, with no tools, products, or waste left behind.
    2. After the competition, contestants should promptly clean up their tools and products and restore the workstation to a tidy condition.

 

3. Competition Process

(1) Pre-Competition Preparation

    1. Contestant Check-in:
    • Contestants must arrive at the designated area at least 15 minutes before the competition starts for check-in.

 

(2) Competition Segment

    1. Competition Start: Contestants have 30 minutes to complete all actions.
    2. Competition End: Contestants must stop immediately when time is up. Any unfinished work will not be counted in the scoring.

 

(3) Submission and Evaluation

    1. The written analysis and care oil must be clearly presented for judges’ evaluation.

Scenario 1: Dry Skin and Fine Lines

 

Description

A 40-year-old woman suffers from dry skin caused by long-term dehydration, with fine lines appearing around her eyes and mouth. She seeks an aromatherapy solution to improve hydration, reduce fine lines, and restore skin elasticity.

 

Task

Design a 10mL care oil formula emphasizing deep hydration and repair functions. Complete the actual blending of the formula.
