MIVA Asia Barber Competition Guideline

(G1L) Barber - Fade Haircut

    1. Competition Rules

(1) Competition Content

    1. Fade Haircut: Adjust the layers on the sides of the hair for a smooth transition, ensuring that the lines are clean and the fade blends naturally. Refine the hairline to ensure it is clear, symmetrical, and harmonizes with the model’s head shape.
    2. Top Haircut: The length of the top should naturally blend with the sides, maintaining overall balance in the styling.
    3. Overall Coordination: The hairstyle should harmonize with the model’s face shape, hairstyle style, and clothing style, reflecting overall aesthetic balance.

(2) Competition Time

    • The competition duration is 30 minutes. All actions must be completed within the time limit.

(3) Contestant Grooming Requirements

    1. Dress Code: Contestants must wear the uniform provided by the organizer, paired with appropriate pants and shoes to reflect a professional image.
    2. Hair Requirements: Hair must be neatly styled, clean, and well-groomed. If the hair is long, it may be tied back to maintain cleanliness and professionalism.
    3. Overall Appearance: Contestants must maintain a tidy and clean appearance, without excessive accessories or heavy makeup, to ensure a professional look.

(4) Tools and Products

    1. Tools: Scissors, comb, electric clippers, razors, blow dryer, cleaning brush, etc.
    2. Products: Hair wax, styling spray, or hair conditioner.
    3. Extension Cords: Contestants must bring their own extension cords; the organizer will only provide one electrical outlet per participant.

(5) No Hair Coloring

    • The Fade Haircut competition focuses solely on the haircutting and styling techniques, emphasizing the natural color transitions and technical details of the hair. Therefore, hair coloring is not allowed.
    • The model’s natural hair color does not require any additional specification, and participants must work with the model’s natural hair color.

(6) Prohibited Actions

    1. The use of templates to assist in hairline design is prohibited.
    2. The use of cover-up products (such as hair dye, hair powder, concealers, etc.) is prohibited.
    3. No pre-cutting or modifying the model’s hair before the competition begins.

2. Model Requirements

(1) Model Conditions

Participants must bring their own male model, and the model’s hair must be healthy with no obvious scalp damage.

    • The side hair length must be at least 3 cm, and the top hair length must be at least 5 cm to allow for flexibility in the fade haircut and top trimming.

(2) Model Clothing

    1. Style Suggestions:
    • Casual style (solid-colored t-shirt or shirt).
    • Business style (a formal shirt without a tie or a single suit jacket).
    1. Prohibited Actions:
    • No printed or brightly colored clothing.
    • No hats or accessories that may obstruct the view of the hairstyle.

3. Safety and Hygiene

(1) Tools and Products
